Buyer wants me to ship to different address
I posted last week about a buyer paying unconfirmed. I refunded and today he repaid with a confirmed address, but asked me to send it to his work address. Does this present another problem with paypal and seller protection? Does having his email protect me if I prove I sent it to the new address? Thanks the item is almost $200 so I dont want to take any chances.

there can be many reasons why they decided to do this maybe its a gift for someone in the family and they dont want thatperson to see or what ever the reason behind it they chose to do this its not that big of a deal. I wuld recommend geting the thign form the post office where the person must sign for it

no you wouldn't be covered, explain to him this to him maybe send him the paypal link where it says you are not covered.

Unless you are a powerseller and enrolled in their new powerseller extended protection program, you must send to the confirmed address. From what I read it sounds like he confirmed a new address and sent payment and now wants you to ship to an address that is not the confirmed address? Doing this will not cover you in a paypal claim, assuming you aren't in the powerseller extended program. You must send to the confirmed address, I'd recommend sig confirmation for the extra $1.50 and insurance. For whatever reason if the package mysteriously doesn't get there you can file an insurance claim for your $ back, if it's in fact found out that the item is delivered and the recipient is claiming otherwise, that is mail fraud. Their intentions could be innocent but as a seller it's not worth the risk.

I am not a powerseller and he wants me to ship to the unconfirmed addresss. What do I do? What if it is a gift or something. I understand where he is coming from, but I dont want to get screwed either.

I wouldn't do it, to much to lose on your end.

I'd ship it to the unconfirmed address if the card wasn't worth a whole lot.

What's the card worth?

What's the buyer's feedback?

A lot of new buyers have issues with Paypal and their addresses, financials, etc. It can be daunting if you're new to the whole thing and want to buy stuff. When I just started out, I worried about this stuff for even the 99-cent cards, but now I try to work with buyers. He obviously made some effort to re-pay you with a confirmed address. He's probably just confused. Smile

Ship to the confirmed address attached to the payment. If he's legit he'll manage to get his package, if he's a fraud then he's out the coin. Keep your receipts handy just in case that way if you have to chat with paypal you've got everything ready. I'd also make sure your paypal balance is $0; I do that anyway out of habit to ensure if anything ever comes up paypal can't empty my account.

I want to work with him, I see his side too, what if it is a present for his some's birthday, or something? I dont mind working with him, but I dont want to lose my seller's protection and he gets the jersey for free.
