Best way to sell Inserts??
I'm looking for the best way to sell my collection of inserts...I have over 2,000 inserts from 1997-current; auto's, jerseys (single color), #'d and non-numbered inserts from numerous companies and values ranging from $1-50...average let's say a conservative $4-5.

I was either thinking to put the whole lot out there or breaking them up by teams and sell them as Team Inserts---realizing that it would take quite some time to sell of the team inserts and probably at more money than as a whole...

I've been selling on the "other" website for over 10 years now with 3500+ feedback and 100%...but this is a tricky lot, as I am looking to change my hobby collecting.

What's your guys take on this?

Thanks
Jim

Tough. Some Inserts have a real hardcore following. Precious Metals, Autographics...

Then you also have set builders who may have been looking for certain cards for such a long time and would pay top $ for them. Then if a bidding war goes on, you may luck out big time.

Try to do a bit of research on sales of the particular players/cards and see what comes up. Also, if you are still collecting, you may want to compile a list and head on over to the trading boards. You may just find someone who is willing to let you trade up.

I usually make lots out of Autos and GU separately and I sell inserts grouped by team or by player if you have a lot of a big name like Favre.

I agree with hazez in that some insert sets have a strong following and to try to list them as singles and you might get a few collectors in a bid war.

I take out any autographs, any jersey cards, and any low numbered inserts/parallel cards (non-auto and non-jersey cards #/25 or less), and sell them separately. The remaining inserts, I group into teams, then sell them that way. Any autos that don't sell individually, I sell in one big lot. Same with the jersey cards and with the low numbered cards.
