Cooperstown Collection
#11

RE: Cooperstown Collection
I went a little overboard today at a local card shop but added some nice additions to my Cooperstown PC!

Bought a 1986 Sportflics, 1988 Donruss Baseball's Best, 1992 Upper Deck Gold Hologram factory sets.

Also bought 5 packs 1988 Fleer, 10 1990 Fleer Jumbo's, 3 1995 Score Summit, 15 1997 Upper Deck Series #1, and 14 2004 Bazooka packs.

Spent about $80 total and I'm still sorting through it all. So far pulled a 1988 Fleer Tom Glavine RC, 1990 Fleer Soaring Stars Larry Walker, 1997 Upper Deck Ticket to Stardom Manny Ramirez, and 2004 Bazooka Adventures Relics Nomar Garciaparra jersey card. Ahhh the good old days!
I've found myself to be very picky when it comes to collecting Hall of Fame players, especially when it comes to managers. Joe Torre is a HOF manager but not a player, so I'm only collecting Joe Torre manager cards.

On the other hand Ted Williams and Red Schoendienst are HOF players but not HOF managers so I'm not collecting any manager cards of either of these players. Too strict or is it basically one in the same?
All-time favorite insert card designs:

  1. 1991 Donruss Elite
  2. 1995 Studio Platinum
  3. 1994 Flair Hot Glove
  4. 1993 Ultra Award Winners
  5. 2001 Bowman Heritage Chrome
  6. 1994 Fleer All-Stars

To each his own. Myself, I collect the players only. No managers, umps, executives, writers or announcers.

I on the other hand collect any card featuring a HOFer on it. I collect the umps and announcers, executives, managers and coaches too. You gotta collect what you want. We can tell you what we collect but we can't tell you what you should collect. It's all subjective.
I collect Hall of Fame baseball player cards and cards of current and retired superstars.
