I am thinking about building a set of just rediscover topps cards for either 1987, 1989, or 1991 topps.

Has anyone thought about building a set with just buyback cards?

Great idea, as it definitely looks like all the cards to put a set together are out there. I thought about it, but considering some of the prices some people want for the stars and that there are almost 800 cards in each of those sets it would make it at least around $1k to put one of those sets together.
Collecting John Stockton, Karl Malone, Ivan Rodriguez, Gary Carter & UF player rookie year cards. Plus Jedd Gyorko rookie and prospect cards.

I'm attempting to put together a set of the 1969 Topps Mets buybacks. Nolan Ryan and Tom Seaver will probably never surface, but the chase is half the fun!
