I do a breast cancer walk each year and was looking at different ways to raise money. Id it against the rules on here or just unethical to hold a raffle of day an autograph card or something on here? Not sure if it would be doable or if anyone would be interested but I wanted to check first to see if it's even possible. Any feedback would be appreciated!

I am a CPA and I specialize in nonprofit tax. An online raffle would be illegal because a raffle must conform to the rules of the jurisdiction state, and since an online raffle crosses state lines, it would not be permitted.

Instead, you can personally donate cards to the nonprofit (and perhaps take a tax deduction if you itemize), and then the nonprofit could sell by any means, including this site, and let the buyers know that all the proceeds would go toward the nonprofit programs.

Not ideal, but it would be legal!
