What you have there is the 1989 Collect the Stars Baseball Magnetables #59 Ken Griffey Jr. Here is the entry in the Beckett database:

Collecting John Stockton, Karl Malone, Ivan Rodriguez, Gary Carter & UF player rookie year cards. Plus Jedd Gyorko rookie and prospect cards.

I would say that the 2 cards/magnets are definitely related somehow, maybe one was a prototype or something like that. Hopefully someone else can chime in on this, as it's got me curious as well.
