Should you get RIP Cards Graded?
Hello all,
I am new to grading (in fact i just sent my first batch in a couple of weeks ago) but i was wondering what people think about getting Allen and Ginter Rip or Double Rip cards graded?
Thanks,
Jim

RE: Should you get RIP Cards Graded?
I am going to assume these would be unripped cards that you would be inquiring about. I wouldn't bother sending a ripped one in for grading as it would get a pretty low grade due to the damage from ripping it. As for the unripped ones, if you never plan on ripping them open then getting them graded is one way to take away the temptation. However personally, I wouldn't bother grading one as I can't imagine anyone paying enough of a premium for a graded one versus an ungraded one to offset the cost of grading.
Collecting John Stockton, Karl Malone, Ivan Rodriguez, Gary Carter & UF player rookie year cards.  Plus Jedd Gyorko rookie and prospect cards.

I don't see the appeal of grading here. But if you'd like it in a slab, why not just authenticate?
