Your Organize Setup?

Your Organize Setup?
So, I have a few collections going and here is how I broke my organize up.

1. Jim Thome
1. Alex Rodriguez
1. Richie Ashburn
2. Graded Phillies and Philly Athletics
2. Phillies and Philly Athletics Autos, Relics, Inserts, Etc.
3. Graded non-Philly
3. MLB Relics and Autos
4. 2000 USA Baseball Gold Medal Auto Set
5. Topps Presidential First Pitch Set
6. 2006 WBC Jersey Cards
6. 2006 WBC Patch Cards
6. 2006 USA WBC Auto Set
7. 1996 World Cup Hockey USA Auto Set
7. Philadelphia Flyers

I used the numbers so they appeared in some order in organize. I've then copied each collection into Excel and made it look nicer. I only plan on having organize for a month or two to get thing situated. I don't buy like a crazy person, so I can update as I go in Excel.

You? Does this make sense? I wanted to avoid cards that fit into two categories so I think this is the best way to do that,.

I started with Excel spreadsheets for my 10,000 card collection and manually entered price changes using Beckett Almanacs. But, in order to trade, I switched to Organize in 2 categories...1 for keeps and 1 for trades. Smart move since my collection is nearly 30,000 cards now.

This is how mine is set up. Individual player collections and all my other cards not in a player collection are listed by year under Zeprock. Two of my collections contain cards that are listed under another collection. All the cards in my Zeprock Memorabilia are autos and GU cards that are also in other collections and Zeprock Baseball for Trade are all cards that are in my player collections that I have dupes of. My 1 Purgatory collection contains recently obtained cards that I have yet to put into another collection. Listing all my commons under Zeprock keeps them all together in the list and putting a "1" in front of Purgatory keeps that collection at the top of the list and when I add cards from the OPG, it automatically defaults to that collection. It works for me.

RE: Your Organize Setup?
Mine goes in order like this:
Baseball trade book 1
baseball trade book 2
and so on to 18
same goes for football

Its so when I start trading again when my trader picks the card he/she so desires I can go to that book and pull them and then send the counter offer

RE: Your Organize Setup?
"Cards I Want vs. Cards I Don't" is my basic premise, with the latter being the majority. I collect Chicago teams, basically, so everything I'm keeping is broken up by team and certain players I like for whatever personal reason. Thing's I'll trade are just divided by sport.
I appreciate Chicago players that begin competing within the city's sports organizations and stay with these teams throughout their careers.

RE: Your Organize Setup?
Cool thread seeing how other people have things organized...

My collection has a ton of folders, the default ones, ---------My sub folder sets I've completed or
ones I've set up for trades from other sites, ------------- am working on are broken down by year.
stuff I listed on COMC, small PC's,
incoming from COMC, Beckett, etc.
Then sub folder for my Red Sox wants and haves,
sets I'm working on, and cards for trade.

[Image: my_collection_zpswm2x2k60.jpg] -------------------[Image: my_collection_sets_zpspmpx8shz.jpg]

My Red Sox haves are listed by year, ----------------My cards for trade are arranged by year,
but I keep the wants set up by decades. -----------player, or type (game used, auto, etc).
