I have a question as it will determine part of my PC. Currently there are 310 HOF members players, managers, and pioneers/execs. Announcers are not inductees. They belong to other halls but not the national baseball HOF. They also can receive the Frick award. Do you all still collect them? I'm trying to decide for the RC's and AU's.

Execs. announcers, pioneers and umpires most likely do not have rookie cards.
to fill that gap I would find a card during their careers if possible.

If you think about it Cool Papa Bell 1922-1950 and his first card was 1974
Would you consider the 1976 his rookie card or first year card

Some of them do Bob Uecker for instance but he is an announcer therefore not a national baseball HOF member.

As far as actual members such as some of the umps have cards in select sets while they were active such as the 55 Bowman set.

I personally collect HOF announcers and sportswriters. Winning the Frick Award gets them into the Hall. For your project though I would not consider them nor would I consider executives. I would stick to the men who take the field but that's just my take on it.

I think anyone that was on the field or dugout should be included in your PC. Players, managers and umps. Execs, and announcers can wait
