Are the Bowman Chrome refractors this year not marked like Topps Chrome?

Not sure but it appears that the refractors are just a bit thicker and numbered to 499

Yes the refractors are numbered in Bowman Chrome. I think they did away with the word refractor though on all products of Chrome.

That's too bad because I really have trouble telling the difference between the base and base refractors.

I started shining a little LED flashlight on them. Base reflects the light as normal and the refractors gave off a rainbow reflection.

I think I figured out a way. I put them on my scanner. It seems that if it's a refractor it seems to have a lighter background. If I put multiples on of the same card the refractor is lighter. Then to be sure I ask my son. He seems to be able to tell the difference.
