Sweet!! Sucks it had to be because of Beltre's injury but it will be great to see what the kid has got! IF he comes up mashing I wonder what the Rangers will do once Beltre is back.

Even if Gallo mashes, once Beltre is back and ready he'll go back in the lineup. You don't bench a Gold Glove borderline Hall of Famer for a 21-year-old prospect.

If they don't send him back down, my guess would be he would split time between OF, DH and 1B, likely at the expense of Moreland.

Oh yeah most definitely agree there! Just curious as to where they would put him.

If I were to guess, I'd say he'll be some sort of "super" utility guy, spelling Hamilton in LF, Choo in RF, Moreland at 1B and Beltre at 3B.

That said, he doesn't exactly have glowing defensive numbers at either corner IF spot. So maybe his actual future is an OF/DH-type.

He's going right back when beltre is back, they've been clear this is a short term thing. Was a little surprised they called him up really though, he hasn't been destroying the ball (except Sat when one nearly left the park)

His defense at 3rd is actually not bad he's surprisingly quick for a guy so large, but he's been in
Lf the past week, not bad from what I saw but it's a totally new position
