How much do you add if...
#11

RE: How much do you add if...
The whole notion of paying a premium for a particular serial number stemmed from the early 90s when serial numbered cards were numbered out of 10,000 and then it felt a bit more special to get the first number, last number, and players jersey number. However even back then people were looking for other numbers (players birthdays, home run totals, etc.) It quickly got out of hand and then serial numbered cards started dropping their print runs to 100 or less. Now with so many different parallels and print runs being single or double digits, the premium for serial number 1, last number, or jersey number have dropped. For serial numbered cards that have a print run of 10 or less, there is very minimal premium paid. For some higher print runs the premium still exists, but it isn't nearly as much as some people try to get.
Collecting John Stockton, Karl Malone, Ivan Rodriguez, Gary Carter & UF player rookie year cards.  Plus Jedd Gyorko rookie and prospect cards.
