Favorite cards growing up?

Favorite cards growing up?
What are some of the cards you loved the most from your early days of collecting? These 4 of my favorites, nothing that's worth much except to me. 1991 Score baseball and football were my favorite sets back then, loved the all star cards!

For me it was these. I started collecting in 1970 and I loved the look of these cards. Pulled my favorite player (Yastrzemski) out of the first pack I ever bought.

I collect Hall of Fame baseball player cards and cards of current and retired superstars.

I really liked the design of the 1989 Score baseball and the 1991 Score with Bo Jackson with a bat and football pads.

I also enjoyed the look of 1991 Score All Star, as well as Dream Team. Oh, and 91 Fleer Pro Visions. I also enjoyed 91 Studio.

Still love the look of Studio, and I'm trying to put together the Studio sets from 14 & 15 Donruss.

Someone had brought some 1990 Donruss to class one day and that is what made me start collecting. That flashy red border was so cool to me back then.

I was and still am (don't care about the 'roids) a huge Mark McGwire fan. The ultimate card to own at the time, because he didn't have any memorabilia cards out there, was the first of his bat cards. At it's highest it ran about $800 I believe. Had it, then sold it later when more of his memorabilia items started popping up. I'll probably try to get another one soon. I'll admit it wasn't the nicest design with the piece of bat, often not even placed nicely in the diamond, but at the time it was a card I just had to have. Stole this pic off of a completed auction on ebay.

For me it was the 1996 Select Certified that hooked me on collecting baseball cards, but I was not a kid. I really wished I'd hung on to most of them. So sad, so very sad now.

As for me, I started buying baseball cards back in the late 60's, prolly just for Fun and the gum, use to trade em' put em' in bike spokes, have like yard sales and sell them along with Creepy Crawlers I would make, then back in 1991 my Oldest son (pictured below back then) got me back into the Card World
