Ripken got the most votes as starter. After looking at the stats I think Ernie Banks under appreciated.

Ripken got the Steaks & 3000 hits but offensively Banks was just as good if not better. Ernie smacked 143 RBI and had 5 years of 40+HR. Doing this while he was the best offensive Shortstop with no speculation he was on PED. If U have to pick SS in their prime who would choose?

Lot of good ss out there, looking offense and defense, every day play, there are a lot of variables. I think this is part of what makes baseball soo much fun and enjoyable having these kind of discussings(??)
