Top 3 favorite players of all time
Was just wondering who everyone's 3 favorite players of all time are and why? Mine are below
1. Ken Griffey Jr - Him and Puckett always played the game hard and always had smiles on their faces.
2. Kirby Puckett - Dad's favorite so naturally I grew up watching and cheering for him as well.
3. Paul Goldschmidt - Not sure why I started collecting and liking him so early really, just had a weird feeling he was gonna become a great player and sure enough he has. Met him in person and he's so humble and down to earth! Plays the game the right way and never complains.

All-Time
#1 Barry Bonds- He is the Greatest of All-Time! Power, Speed, Average, Hitting, Defense. My Bonds collection started when I was 10 years old... 23 years later im still collecting him
#2 Ken Griffey Jr.- IT'S GRIFFEY! Prettiest Swing in Baseball History. Older Brother favorite player of all-time.
#3(T) Bryce Harper & Mike Trout- I had to put these guys tied at 3 because i think we are watching the modern day Bonds and Griffey...

Willie Mays, got a home run ball when I was a kid at a game, caught it! Best player ever!
Willie McCovey, one of the most intimidating hitters ever!
Juan Marichal, as a kid one of the best pitchers ever!
Mostly football and a set builder

Pete Rose- grew up in Cincinnati and began sliding head first to be just like Pete
Rod Carew- could probably hit .300 using a wet noodle, he was a wizard, and his wand was a bat
Eric Davis- the ultimate "could have been" had it not been for an entire career of being injury plagued, yet still managed to always be productive when in the lineup

Will Clark: Favorite player as a kid. He gave me a ball after turning a double play with Royce CLayton & Darren Lewis. Sweetest swing ever.
Barry Bonds: Greatest modern day power hitter. No one put fear into pitchers and teams like he did when at the plate.
Tony Gwynn: Grew up in San Diego, watched him play countless times. Greatest modern day hitter. Meet him a few times, really nice guy. Left us to early.

As I follow baseball since few times, my picks will be based on pure feeling with no solid stats behind.
1) Dustin Pedroia: I love baseball since I went to Boston and Dustin was one the reason why. A simple guy who just love to play. Sounds so normal but at professional level and with so much fans and media behind him, it's not.
2) Justin Verlander. If I had to define what pitcher I would like to be, that's him. Classy inside and outside.
3) Derek Jeter. Do I have to write??

1. dale murphy: started watching the braves in 1977. f course Murph was my favorite
2. fred mcgriff: saw him while he was with the columbus clippers, and he hit this 480 foot blast. i had NEVER seen anything like that.
3. wily mo pena. the yanks screwed him by bringing him up way too early, and he never learned to hit breaking stuff. but if you were stupid enough to throw a fastball to him....holy jebus, he would hit the every loving bleep out of the ball. he hit a homer so hard off the first row of the green monster that the ball bounced all the way back to the infield. if one of the fans had been in the way, they would have been killed
***honorable mention to a guy i never saw play, but: Cool Papa Bell

Alan Trammell--Childhood baseball hero.
Darrell Evans--Just business like persona. I don't think his expression ever changed on the field whether he just hit a 3 runs shot or got picked off at 3rd in the ALCS in '87.
Griffey Jr.--If the Mariners were in town I had to get across the river and see at least one game of the series. Just a pleasure to experience.
Honourable Mention:--Tommy Brookens. Everyone loves the underdog grinder on their team.

RE: Top 3 favorite players of all time
In terms of my personal collection, it's easy as there are 3 players that I have focused on.
1) Gary Carter - I was a Mets fan growing up and I thought catchers were underappreciated
2) Ivan Rodriguez - The best young catcher when Gary Carter retired
3) Jedd Gyorko - I'm not sure what triggered this one, but his last name is pronounced Jerk-o

Ryne Sandberg - Was named after him, so only fitting. My favorite player of all time
Anthony Rizzo - Another Cub and being a Cubs fan, it is fun to collect his cards and watch him play.
Alex Gordon - Not sure where this started, maybe cause he was on my fantasy baseball team a few years back when he finally had a breakout year, but I love watching this guy play. Plus I remember all the hype when he was drafted and flamed out, so I always thought it was a good story.
