I would have liked to have started this thread earlier in the chase, but I just have not had time. I like the design better this year, although I wished they would use a darker red. The checklist.... I am kind of torn on. There were some nice new additions that I am glad to pick up PC autos of, such as Pippen, Larry Johnson, Anfernee Hardaway and some other smaller names, but they did away with a lot of their bigger names, such as no Bryant or Durant this year which was kind of disappointing, but the thing for me with this set was the variety anyways, I just wanted to pick up a bunch of random autos in a set. They definitely added variety this year, however it is a bunch of oddball players.... Alan Anderson lol. I was really looking forward to them including Shaq, and Malone in the set but no such luck. Ultimately I decided to go for it for the addition of Pippen and Hardaway autos to the PC, and at least they are all on card again which is a Huge plus. So here is the progress thus far, I have mainly been targeting the SP cards

Love that Jerry Lucas by the way (*cough BUCKEYE *cough). I have got to get autos of him and Havlicek in Buckeye uniforms. Such big, bold, clean sigs, and they brought OSU their only national title in bball (1960).

Haha that would be cool. Rik Smits is really cool, he came to a school where I live and talked to a bunch of the classes about playing in the NBA. This was back when he was still playing. His shoe was ridiculously huge. Like almost as long as my arm


Thanks, I really like looking at them all together, I am hoping this can be my yearly auto set chase for many more years to come. I may have to chase a second set though to try and get some players they haven't included. Although I will say that each year so far they have had new additions that made the set appealing to me so who knows maybe Shaq and Malone will be there next year.

Thanks man lol I appreciate that. I am actually about halfway done just waiting on cards to come in. Lucas was actually one of the additions I was happy to see. They had some pretty interesting additions. Although Mitch was not included this year I don't believe.

Hey T-Barn...check panini's website checklist, they actually scrubbed it and removed some players. There is less than 100 in the set this year. Beckett still has the original checklist loaded.

Thanks for pointing that out man! After looking at both checklists, their is something strange, Panini took out card #534 Jalen Rose, but I actually own that one already... so now how am I supposed to know which ones don't actually exist.

Great stuff man! When I opened the thread I assumed the same thing that Buck did. Maybe 5-10 cards....not a 1/3 of the set already! It seems like you already have a couple of the big name players too. Keep it up man!

Thanks man, I still have a few "big" ones like the Kareem and Penny, and Hill.... but that is pretty much it. I am pretty disappointed they did not even include Bird this year. Some of the names they apparently did not produce were ones that I was actually looking forward to getting.

Very Cool! I knew you were going to chase this set, just waiting for your post, but surprised how many cards you already grabbed. I didn't know the Dominique Wilkins Auto would be in a Celtics Uniform, I gotta get that one ASAP, one of my white whales, especially if there is a green version!
