Card or cards you will probably never own due to overpricing on eBay, etc???

RE: Card or cards you will probably never own due to overpricing on eBay, etc???
Some of those proces are reidiculous. I think the seller jacks them up really high to give the illusion that the card is worth more than it is plus have the buyer offer his highest offer to get the most out of it. If you offer $200 on a card listed for $1000. It seems like more of a deal since your paying 20% what he's asking, but in reality, it's still too much.

1/1's are unpredicatable. It's risky to pass one up at a high price since you may never see it again. I've passed up a few myself because I couldn't bring myself to pay an arm and a leg for one card. It's annoying having them sit there for years and the seller still won't give in. There's alot of Greedy people out there.

Man, I wouldn't pay more than $15 tops for a non-auto/patch 1/1 for a backup, even IF you PC him, like I am with Johnathan Franklin (who is now out of football after ONE start). For a patch/auto or combo, I wouldn't go over $50. One, you do yourself a disservice since once you buy a card at a price, other sellers price theirs the same. And two, some sellers act tough, but I passed on 2 Franklin 1/1's after making an offer I felt was fair...both times a week or so later, they emailed me and said they would come down to my original offer if I would still buy. Doesn't happen every time, but some people realize they just aint getting what they are trying for lol.

They have saturated the market with so many 1/1 cards now that it is definitely driving prices down. I wish I could get a kaufman 1/1 for that price. I've seen kaufman go for a few hundred dollars because they are so rare in the late 90's compared to now. I saw a 99 upperdeck 1/1 kaufman go for over $300. It's crazy.

I don't think you are overpaying at all. The bottom line is it's the only card in existence for that specific card. So you can't really put a value on it other than what it's worth to YOU. I have paid a pretty penny for a few kaufman cards and I have never regretted it.

As for that keenen you are taling about. I can offer him a smaller amount than you would offer just to see if he will take it. If he does, I'll just pay for it and you can buy it from me when I get it for same price. If he doesn't take it, maybe that will make your price more appealing to him? If he gets multiple low offers, maybe he will reconsider.

Great idea, I have been the only offers, but even though I went higher than I have on any card minus my champ ticket 1/1, I have been auto declined over and over... He obviously wants way too much, he won't even give me a ball park price...Sad oh well...can't own them all I guess...

I will probably never own the Steven Jackson 2004 LCM Mirror Black. I know who has it, what he paid for it and what he wants for it. I basically have to win the lottery to get it.

Sad
Steven Jackson Collection
Total cards = 1,648
Autos = 376
Patches = 341
1/1’s = 94
Full rainbows = 24!

Those cards are sweet. It's amazing how cool some of these cards have gotten. Reggie has a cool looking auto as well. I swear kaufman has one of the ugliest autos ever. lol. I do like the bible verse addition though.
