RE: Should the ban on Pete Rose be lifted?
I really don't care either way but its a fun topic....
So if the voting criteria is supposed to take character into account.......does that mean all the our HOFers never cheated on their wives while they were playing?

Completely agree on this. If there is one thing I find too common in this world it's that people want to hold others to a much higher standard than they want done to themselves by others.

I say "yes" to allow Rose to be inducted into the Hall.
All it takes is a forgiving gesture on behalf of the Hall to allow so and I'm certain Mr. Rose's negative demeanor would disappear.
We ALL have had "past" transgressions and have had someone more forgiving than ourselves help us realize our own humility.

No. He's a liar.
I appreciate Chicago players that begin competing within the city's sports organizations and stay with these teams throughout their careers.

Pete tried to stay out of jail by agreeing to the lifetime ban..time goes by..too bad..deal still stands. Guilty as charged..too bad, great player. He made his own bed..just not comfortable now..another generation is discussing his fate..Pete determined the outcome years ago..time marches by, but the deal still stands.
BTW..the HOF voters did not determine his fate, he did. They can not vote on someone not on the ballet..writes are not allowed

Let Pete Rose in the day after Shoeless Joe Jackson gets in.
And since letting Shoeless Joe Jackson in will essentially be admitting that perhaps Judge Kenesaw Mountain Landis did not act in a fair or consistent manner as Commissioner of Baseball (despite it being a well documented historic fact) and that the evidence against Jackson has always been at least a bit questionable that is simply not happening.

I would let him in, I saw him coach the Bridgeport Bluefish a few weeks ago. My guess is they will let him in after he dies.
