Found at Auction
Today i acquired a box full of 1974 topps baseball cards in near mint to mint condition. The cards were in order and there is about 140 cards missing. Most of the individually valuable cards are there. I paid about 30dollars for the boxes. Most cards that are there have doubles. Im curious what i should do with them/ if i made the right decison buying them.
Here is a complete list of the missing cards

I guess if you like baseball, and you like cards, and you like to collect stuff .... Sure, you made a good decision buying those cards. $30 for a box of 1974 cards seems reasonable, especially since you said they were in great shape and most of the 'name' players are there. Congrats!

I guess if I saved used tinfoil and used tea bags instead of old comic books and old baseball cards, the difference between a crazed hoarder and a savvy collector is in that inherent value.

well hell I mean if your that close, why not put the set together? That what I would do! put them in a binder and go for it.

At $30 in NM to Mint condition you got a GREAT deal. The Winfield rookie alone would cover that if it was in Mint condition, not to mention card #1 of Hank Aaron which is a pretty hefty priced card considering it is just a subset card. You did REALLY good at that price. I would personally try to finish the set, especially since you already have the highest priced cards for the set. However if you are simply looking to flip your investment, then you might be better off selling the top cards individually or if they are in Mint condition then you will be best off by sending them in to be graded and then selling them.
Collecting John Stockton, Karl Malone, Ivan Rodriguez, Gary Carter & UF player rookie year cards.  Plus Jedd Gyorko rookie and prospect cards.

Like a couple people already said Id complete the set but remember the 1974 set also has Washington variations and Winfield has a Washington variation card. Great pick up The Dave Parker Rookie would cover your cost as well if I remember correctly.

RE: Found at Auction
Thanks guys for your help! Other information that could be useful is that included with the near set I got doubles of the Griffey rookie, Pete rose, steve carlton, Jim Palmer, Dave Winfield.

I also got a large amount of 1971-73 cards (mostly orioles including Jim Palmer) and about half of the 1973 set.

Also I got 2 1972 johnny benches, A Phil Niekro and about 10 cards from the mid 1960's

Lastly I got the complete 1974 topps traded set (no checklist)

All of this stuff including the cards from the first box were bought for $40
