2014 In The Game Past Present Baseball Case Break

2014 In The Game Past Present Baseball Case Break
So my auctions ended and here are the final results for those who follow along....more in depth box break downs can be found at the link.

http://forloveofhomeplate.com/2014-in-th...ajor-miss/

Summary:
SRP on a 10 Box case $1,450
Sales on singles from 10 box case = $538
Overall loss from 10 box case = $912

I never expect to make money (realistically I always expect to lose but then hopefully come away with a few cards for my personal collection and the fun of the experience) but this particular product was a little too exteme for my tastes.

I felt the Buy Back cards they used were cheap (low grades not real vintage) and could be found at most LCS or Card Show bargain bins. Simply slapping a ITG PSA Slab on it does not make the cards more desirable.

Until next time!

I agree with box/case busting as a gamble...but to break a 10 box sealed case and 90% of the boxes don't produce even close to 70% of the value back is a bit extreme. That means in this case there wasn't even one collector who would have fared well on any of the boxes.
