1998 Finest Derek Jeter Yellow Blotching?

1998 Finest Derek Jeter Yellow Blotching?
I thought I had just come across some type of printing error but it looks very common. About 50% of the 1998 Finest #92 Derek Jeter cards I've come across have some sort of weird blotching on his body on the front.

Anyone know why it's so prominent?

I have several 1998 Finest Nomar Garciaparra cards and a couple 1996-97 Topps Finest Mickey Mantle cards like this. They're flawed.
I collect Hall of Fame baseball player cards and cards of current and retired superstars.

'Finest' releases had many flaws in production for about the first decade. Lots of the cards had unintentional color variations. It seems that the printing technology was not up to the task that Topps was trying to employ during that time.
It is just another flawed card. It would be considered along the same line as a card with an off-center cut.
