1964 "real card" in '13 heritage???
#1
Question
1964 "real card" in '13 heritage???
I have just opened the first of the 2 '13 heritage boxes I ordered for christmas and I got the suprised to see a one-card box topper pack with a "real 1964 topps card".
I Opened it and I got the 318 (twins team)

The only difference is that the card is stamped with a gold "50th anniversary" foil.

I would like to get info on this card but I can't find it anywhere.

Do you know what is the rate of this kind of card? Does the whole 1964 set go like this? Any value?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S: I would have prefered to get the card without stamp. Doesn't seem to be legit now

They are Buybacks.they are stamped.
Listed in OPG, no prices.
Not much value except to team collectors.
I pick them up for a couple bucks usually..

I have pulled a few of these myself. I think the going rate is 1 per case so I have been lucky. 2013 is one I was not able to pull this year Oh well thats life. If I were to trade this particular card I would go with the usual Becket pricing for the 1964 plus 10.00 for the grade that it is in. In some cases on the player I would go 25.00 but this card is not one of them

I pulled two from 2013 and i can tell you the grade on them isn't the best

Yeah, agreed ... The one or two that I pulled were considerably less than 'minty' Smile
But it wouldn't be so bad if it were a Mantle or Mays card Smile

I guess if I saved used tinfoil and used tea bags instead of old comic books and old baseball cards, the difference between a crazed hoarder and a savvy collector is in that inherent value.

I definitively agree. I'm not a grading expert but the corners were in a bad shape, following my own criteria.
The idea is just great for me but it is ruined by the 50th anniversary stamp.
I would have been so much better to get it as it was in 1964.

The entire 1964 set is in buyback form, like past years..

I actually like the stamp somewhat as it makes the card stand apart from any random 1964 Topps card. I do wish that they used better condition cards and put them in a nice case, or had them graded/authenticated with the notation "2013 Topps Heritage Buyback" on the grading label.
