Do you display your vintage?

Plus, with those 'flat' non recessed ones squish the card. Just somethig i read about months ago.

As far i know, graded cards are NOT uv protected. You need to put one on that plexiglass.
As a side note..people talked about humidity/moisture as a common issue if stored away.
I think there is a thread in one of the other forums that I read about UV holders. My reading of it, I understood Beckett's holders are UV resistant. I'm going to go look for the thread and make sure of myself here.
OK I found the thread. You can in the forum under Beckett Grading Services/Vintage Grading, and click on the BVG vs. PSA thread. As you go through it you'll find the posts about the UV. Hope this helps.

Yeah I have seen those cases before, thanks for the links, I like the blue psa box, don't like the price though. I am getting ready to make another display case, probably be this weekend... This one will be for bgs cards.. We will see how the 2nd prototype comes out.

Here is my 2nd try, I think it looks a lot better then the first. And cheaper too if you can believe that. I only have about 40 bucks in this one.

RE: Do you display your vintage?
A lot of my collection is stored in binders, the graded portion sits in a safe in a closet. I do display some vintage mostly in Ultra Pro One Touch cases or BVG encapsulated, both which offer UV protection. My case has LED lighting which I rarely turn on, even though LED does not emit UV rays. As you can see from these two pictures of the upper portion of my display case, I have other objects which are less protected and I would rather read about any long term effects about LEDs, if any, before I start lighting up the case more regularly. The lights are turned off here except for the cubicle with my Latin American collectibles (Clemente etc) where the lighting is too strong in the photo. The case also sits away from any direct sunlight of which there's not much.

Very nice job, much more appreciated when you've designed and built it yourself. As far as strictly displaying cards, your case is as good as it gets.

2. put in a bank depository.
i have seen some folks make wooden cases and store them in there...but still not able to view them.
3. some folks store them in binders with those 9 card pocket pages.

I think folks are afraid the light will do damage, like displaying them in those acrylic holders.
and be weary of the humidity factors as well.

I collect tons of post war cards nowaday...and i been thinking of using some of my display cabinets or night stand table. Its been holding my Nascar collectibles.
Yep..the night stand has a glass top (that is removable) and can hold a lot of items and has a fold down drawer front for access. The other is more a furniture peice tower,(like a curio cabinet) it has like 9 shelves that hold diecast..Easily can hold a lot of cards too.
I checked my 2013 gypsy queen original art patch 1/1 David Wright after reading this post....the top front of the card was stuck to the acrylic , card is garbage ripped right off
