Hey all. Hoping one of you knows if there was a 2008 Topps Platinum base set. The only ones I could find are all listed as 1/1 but there doesn't seem to be any serial number on the card. I'm working on a trade involving one of these and neither one of us is sure if the card is a 1/1 or just a regular base that, for whatever reason, isn't listed in the OPG. Obviously, both of us want to make sure we're getting a fair deal. Any info the trading community has on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

The first actual Topps Platinum football set didn't come out til 2009.

However, in the 2008 Topps Football set, there were parallels. Gold #/2008, Black #/53 and Platinum #1/1

So...if it's a 2008 Topps parallel Platinum, it is a 1/1. If it's a 2009, it's just a base card.

Thanks for the replies. I don't have a scan of it because it isn't my card. It's one I am trading for and the other trader is a bit uncertain about what they have. Turns out it may not even be a Topps Platinum. He thinks he has it figured out. Thank you all for your feedback.
