yes I'm behind the 8 ball...but time for my Rivera thread
No I'm not going to share scans from my Yankees PC (because I unfortunately only have 1 gu jersey card of him), but I do want to share my feelings after his last game at Yankee Stadium (yes I know I'm behind, but between college and 2 full time jobs, I just don't get to post like I'd like).

Unfortunately, being in Michigan, I was unable to actually WATCH his last game. That being said, I did listen to it on the radio...and when he came out for the last time to Enter Sandman...I actually cried. IDK why...but I cried. Almost to the point of having to pull over!

Now, sports have given me lots of great feel good moments (and not-so-feel good...DANG YOU PATRIOTS!!!), but I have only cried ONCE from sports (when my Colts won the Super Bowl). Is this weird? IDK why it effected me so!

That being said, I really do need to get on the 8 ball and get some darn Rivera cards lol!

It may be available, i'm trying to put all my Rivera cards together. Not sure what else I have of him, would be nice to find a R/C in my early 90's storage boxes.

Not trying to show you up. But figured I would share the only GU's and Man. Patch card that I have of the GREATEST CLOSER that ever lived. I too shared similar emotions. Was watching the game on YES Network and everything was all good. Started thinking when Joe would bring Mo in. The call game and Mo came out. All was still gravy. Wasn't until I saw Andy & Jeter come out ...That brought out laughter...saw Jeter mouth out "It's time to go" Mariano Hugged ANDY and BOOM Mo's knees BUCKELED at that moment I realized it. THE SANDMAN. THE MAN that broke more bats in history of the game showed us that FOR A DAY THERE COULD BE CRYING IN BASEBALL. Raw Emotions from a guy that rarely showed any. Was a great moment to take in.. Not just as a Yankees fan but a BASEBALL fan. 3 great guys sharing that moment in time on the mound at Yankee Stadium and if you get a chance to go back and watch it. check out the face of JR Murphy. he will forever be tied into history as the last guy to catch a pitch from Mariano Rivera and Matt Daley was the guy who relieved him on his last day.

A guy like Sandman just gives me faith in the game. it's good to know there are guys who deserve to be looked up to.
