LOL. I just read this sentence in the OP:

I still went out for every Blaine Lacher and Jim Carey card.

I have a ton of Jim Carey cards, too. I didn't know what the heck I was doing (collecting-wise) until about 5 years ago. Now there are some nice reference sites out there to help my decision-making.

My biggest regret---

Not buying the last pack on the shelf of 2005-06 Ultimate that someone else pulled the Sidney Crosby auto patch RC out of.

Had the money just did real bad on the others so gave up and left it sitting.
