It's in tribute to Malik Sealy. He would have worn it in Boston had it not been a retired number (Red Auerbach)

I think it's awesome that he's doing that. Whenever I think of Sealy, I think of the fact that he played with the Pistons for one season, was a class act, and played in one of my favorite basketball movies of all time.
