Looking for Input

Looking for Input
I am going next Saturday to get an 11 X 16 signed by Jim Palmer. How do you suggest displaying it while keeping it protected? Would a simple picture frame suffice? I also have an 8 X 10 Brooks Robinson that I had signed when I was 10 that has been in an 8 X 10 plastic sheet that I'd like to display too. Thank you in advance for your input.

RE: Looking for Input
I have numerous framed autographs, all hanging on my wall, and they've all been just fine as such. Have not noticed any fading or anything and some have been up for 15+ years.

RE: Looking for Input
That's good news. I appreciate your reply. I will go frame shopping this weekend then. 15 years and no fading seems to be working just fine.

I suppose it would be best to avoid direct sunlight and whatnot, but standard room light is fine.

Yeah, I have a desk that I use that is in the corner of the dining room, no direct sunlight comes in that corner. They will only be out for the summer and then I replace my Orioles items with Redskins items for football season and they go in a chest in the closet.

RE: Looking for Input
if you want to be safe though paying the extra and getting uv pertected is not a bad idea. As long as its not in direct sunlight it should prob be fine though

RE: Looking for Input
Do you mean the frame being UV protected?

RE: Looking for Input
You can get frames with specially tinted glass to protect against UV - but if you're not in sunlight it should be fine.

RE: Looking for Input
ya the glass would be protected to make sure it don't fade. Its more money so if you wont be in sunlight you prob dont need it but if you have the extra money wouldnt be bad to do
