Ticket Prices out of Control

RE: Ticket Prices out of Control
Whenever I go to a game in Boston, we always park at Sullivan Square and take the T in. It's like $5 to park and easy to get everywhere. TD Garden/Fenway etc.

Cool I'll be 3rd base too, I'll be standing until I can get a seat from an usher...lol

I go to a lot of games every year. I have a ticket package, and my seats are in the second row in the outfield. Face value is $17 for regular games. I don't think I'd want to pay any more for "better" seats.

RE: Ticket Prices out of Control
Ive gone to 2 Giants games in SF so far this year. First game was the exhibition Giants vs A's in SF (weekend before opening day) and we got 2 tickets premium lower box 24th row for $90 out the door off stubhub and went to last friday night's game vs the dodgers (Metallica played the National Anthem, awesome) and had 2 lower box section 129, kind of up from the giants bullpen for $180 out the door also off of stubhub. We found an awesome public parking lot about a 12 minute walk from ATT Park that charges $12 (after 5pm) and $17 (at 3pm). Best thing about it is its a left out of the lot, quick right up on I80 and back to Sacramento we go, so much more convenient than parking there and fighting the traffic. BART from Oakland and also the ferry from Alameda are good cheap options to go right to the stadium. Everything is hella expensive in SF so its nice to save where you can.

We've got the A's AAA affiliate Sacramento River Cats and they're actually really good consistently, amazes me the A's were so bad for so long, lol. But you can get really good seats for $20 each and parking is like 10 bucks. Thats a good time also, but nothing like a Giants' game. :-)

Back to stubhub, I dont know how it is for yall, but I was looking for a couple tickets for a game the following weekend and stubhub was $10/ticket more but mlb.com was charging some ridiculous $22 "convenience" fee. Tickets in the same section, maybe a row or two off, were actually $20 or 30 bucks cheaper on stubhub then the website!

It really does depend on who you go to see AND when. For MLB, outfield bleacher seats really are the way to go b/c they are much cheaper and you still get a great view. In major cities or for perennial playoff teams, tickets will be much higher.
I was going to be in Cleveland in late August of 2005, so I checked out tickets for an Indians game against the Tigers. I got tickets in the outfield about 7 or 8 rows deep for $15 or $20 each. There was $5 parking right across the street. I had a great time at my 1st MLB game and it only cost me about double what I would pay for box seats at my local RC Level MiLB teams' stadium.
I also won NFL tickets in December 2006 to see the Carolina Panthers play against the Steelers. The face value was $49 per ticket. I was 4 rows from the top of the stadium! Now that the Panthers haven't made the playoffs for several years, those same tickets are now just $22 each. Also, parking right beside the stadium and just off the Interstate was still only $5 or $10.
Both of those teams play pretty much in the center of those cities, but they bought up areas around the stadiums for parking or owners of surrounding lots made them parking lots.
I have paid more for tickets and parking to see musicians play at an amphitheater. Concessions really don't come into play b/c they are always overpriced at any event, sports or otherwise.

I have not been to a game in about 5 or 6 years I was lucky enough to sit 3 rows from the field before at fenway for free knew the gm of kc who was playing against the sox. Its not that the tickets are that bad its just they are kinda hard to get maybe not this year but it past years. Generally if I am gonna go to a game I would have no problem dropping 50-75 for a ticket. Figure for me and my wife that would be 150ish after parking or train and all that other stiff you figure 350/400. Yes that is a lot of money which is why it is something I could not do every day or every month but if you make it something special and do it maybe once a year or something like that I dont think its bad at all. Now pats tickets are a dif story those prices are crazy which is why I have never been able to get to a pats game. Celtics and bruins are not that bad floor seats are around 250 a piece but even if you sit it the rafters there really is not a bad seat in the house and those tickets can be had for anywere between 10-35 a piece

Ya The last game out of that group I have gone to was about 3 or 4 years ago I went to a celtics game. Mostly go to sea dogs games its the red sox double a team and the staduim is only about 45min away so not that bad. Can get any seat in the house for 10.00 at most. Also the fact that the guys are really cool there is a added plus. I have got to talk to many of the top players for the red sox there and some from other teams as well. Mostly the pittsburgh team cause the mets farm team were kinda dicks wouldnt sign anything for me because I had red sox gear on.

I'm headed down to Comerica Park to watch the Tigers on May 25th for my birthday. There is 3 of us going and tickets were about $50 a piece. We are planning on parking at the casino to save on parking though. Two years ago I went to a Tigers game with my bestfriend and her 2 kids for their first game and spent about $200 all together for tickets.

I know of a crook who's partnered up with a military veteran. They abuse the policy that many teams in many sports have of giving preference to veterans on season tickets. Then they turn around and sell the tickets are high mark up.

I found it suspicious when a guy in South Louisiana was posting on a NHL team's facebook page about tickets initially then I realize why he was asking questions. Anyone know of a way to report this?
