RE: INVALID SERIAL NUMBERS STICKY

I've discovered some basic issues in the registry and I'll look and see what's what with your posted item (s). FIRE AWAY FOLKS

I will be asking you for your username/password in order to see what is what. In order for me to see what the issues are I need to see EXACTLY what you see -- hence why I will need the info. I need to see how your registry is set up, how the card is showing, and so many other variables I just don't have time to have you do 100 screen prints. If you have issues with me having this info- well say it up front I'll just bypass you solution wise and move on to people who want stuff looked at

I have WAY, way, way too much on my plate to waste any time with anyone. You either provide the user info and what I need in my email request to fix the issue (s)= or it sits for however long. Its been 5 months already and trust me if you don't help yourself by letting me do my work it's not getting finished any time in the foreseeable future.

This ones not in there because the database needs to be updated with the item. I'll submit a database sheet with backup pics.

JOHN--

Having them looking into why it appears in a base set list but NOT when a player base set list is run.

For example- shows when a 2008 SP Authentic base set list is run
Does NOT show when you run a Matt Forte BASE list
Does show if you run a Matt Forte MASTER list

Makes no sense at all and I've said as much and asked them to go look at the item set up to find out why. More than likely its in how the item list was set up to begin with. Emailed you and will advise when this is completed.

iSickboy ---

I need to have the item descriptor in the database corrected on this first before I can test it. Will advise when its been updated properly. Once updated I'll test the solution and advise.

Two Sandberg base set rookie cards are NOT appearing in BASE player registry lists- his Fleer #507 RC and his Donruss #277 RC. I am addressing both of these issues with the appropriate people.

Jeff

Jason this one is fixed. I looked at your registry and its now showing the correct #.

Here I thought your issue was an easy fix Bob- and lo and behold its turned into a MAJOR registry related problem discovery Sad

When I first looked at those cards I immediately discovered the OPG wasn't showing Lou Gehrig listed under "player". So I talked to my OPG guy and had him update the system and add Gehrig to the listed players ( see pic below ).

Now-- here is where it got funky .

I moved on figuring once they updated the system your cards should be entered just fine. But they were not- so I set it aside so I could attack another registry item and come back to yours.

So I then attacked iSickboy's issue with his Ryne Sandberg 1983 Fleer RC. This is where a MAJOR registry related issue was discovered. Turns out it affects both of you the same-- and apparently affects a ton of others.

I went and tried to run a BASIC Ryne Sandberg Registry to test iSickboys card out in the system to see what was showing. You'd think all 3 of Sandberg's 1983 cards from Topps , Donruss, and Fleer would be there since those are the most 3 well known items he has.

NOPE-- shows just his Topps card- missing Fleer & Donruss.
This is a BASIC registry no less-- regular issue items. Yet the basic registry list shows special inserts. See my pictures attached.

So-- what I discovered was there is a MAJOR disconnect between how the registry is set up and using OPG.

After a whopping 2 minutes spent looking at how the OPG is set up and currently works I figured out a simple solution for the programmers and have forwarded them the recommendation.

I basically told them " Use the SET TYPE filter settings as the programming tool for registry."

If it is a main set item these items shoudl show when one chooses the BASIC registry function.

If it is a main set, a parallel, an insert, or a parallel insert - these all should be able to be entered in MASTER registries.

Simple solution.

Here is hoping it gets looked at and the recommendation is accepted.

I'll let you know how it all turns out. I believe that this issue is affecting a ton of users and causing major headaches not only with iSickboy's stuff but Zubaltec, Nolan5000, and a whole slew of others who emailed me but don't post.

I believe a lot of these BASE items will go into basic registries once they fix this issue. Same deal with master registries.

Jeff

Unrelated to those issues.

Some of it has to do with historical files being lost, data crashes, or even cards at shows graded not being uploaded.

When they solve the BVG issue I'll be the first to know and will advise you. I deleted all your BVG items from your May post .I'm aware of what the BVG issue's are. Not solved yet.

Will attack more later trying to multitask.

Jason the reason why his items were not able to be entered the day he tried and your question is one and the same. I've posted this answer before for people and will do it again.

The system cloud upload takes a day to get ALL the info into the S3 organizer. Its a massive amount of data not just a small amount. Were it just a small amount would update immediately. Its not and may take a day or so to be recognized by Beckett.com.

While many may go right away folks will just get annoyed every time they don't go immediately. PATIENCE is what I always say. The new system works fine just requires users to understand why its not "automatic" like the old days. The systems tied into more than just some server now its hooked in to all the databases and requires them all to sync before it reads properly.
