Website
I appreciate your concerns.....you have a lot on your plate trying to "fix" the entire website to make everybody happy.
However, if you are truly trying to "make some changes which we think will have a positive impact on website performance", and "will focus all our energy on making the website an even more enjoyable place for you to collect", and whose "number one priority still remains offering you the best user experience", please consider the following: Subscribers, especially those of us who do the "Total Access" and pay Beckett.com around $270.00 per year for this access to your price guides, are on-line to price cards. We see your tabs for: FORUMS, PUBLICATIONS, Price Guides Marketplace Organize Trade Beckett Grading Services Beckett Graded Registry Beckett Certified Appraisal We don't want them shoved in our face every time we are trying to price cards!!!!!!! We do see them....and if we want to click on them, then we will click on them. WE DO NOT NEED THEM DROPING DOWN, COVERING THE PRICES WE ARE TRYING TO LOOK UP. This function is called a "mouse-over". EVERY TIME WE MOVE OUR MOUSE ON YOUR WEBSITE, THESE "DROP-DOWN, BLACK BODIED "OPTIONS" COVER WHAT WE ARE PAYING FOR AND TRYING TO VIEW ON YOUR WEBSITE. It is a major inconvenience for those of us who are paying for and doing a lot of pricing! PLEASE GET RID OF THESE "MOUSE-OVERS"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In addition, if you truly want to promote the hobby and get more people into collecting and logging on to Beckett.com, then please fix your SHOW CALENDAR. It used to work flawlessly before your computer problems. People could EASILY find a show to go to in their area. Now it is a JOKE. It's horrible, and a terrible waste of time....almost impossible to find a show in whichever state you live in. PLEASE FIX IT. It is my hope that you view this as "Constructive Criticism" so that Beckett.com can address these concerns and truly be the place where "the website will be an even more enjoyable place for you to collect", and offers us the best user experience". Thanks, Gary |

RE: Website
Well the site has a lot of links. The most convenient way to put all those links is by the drop down menu option, which is a great script to hide the multitude of links. You stated mouse over.. well they only drop when you mouse over them
Trust me, you would appreciate the drop down menu much more if Beckett were to expose all their links on one single page. My main concern for the site was the load time. For a site of this magnitude (database and such) the queries probably are a beast to run but on a really good web server it should not be a problem. So Beckett does not need to re structure their site in a major way. They simply need to contact their web provider and get some answers as to why the load time is not fetching like it suppose too. Maybe they just have too many sites on one server. I am hoping that Beckett (with their size and traffic) they have a dedicated server to host this site instead of a share account. Where only Beckett is on that one server. I completely agree.. I like to see more information on scheduled events. Getting on a computer browsing forums and ebay is cool but going to an actual event is even better Maybe Beckett will focus their attention on this issue real soon. First things first though.. Focus the attention on server load time!! Sometimes when Im on here it reminds me of the 56k days.. dial up..lol Hey Beckett.. if you need an experience web guy to help the team let me know been doing it for over 12 years. Might be able to help some. But hope you guys are able to resolve the issues bc this site has great potential!!

RE: Website
Maybe it might help if they reduce the number of graphics on the site, graphics and the depending on their size can really bog down a website
