Was messaging back and forth with phildo37 about some Morozov stuff, and he was kind enough to offer me this:

Possible that UD accidentally put two of these in circulation?? One a fake??

I've had mine since the product released, probably about 3-4 months after. I don't doubt phildo37, because looking at the stuff he owns...tons of it is high dollar and game used, and super impressive. But this certainly is strange.

Yeah - there was a problem with not just that set, but with the set below as well:



I lost my picture of both of the ones I owned side by side. I know of another collector who also had 2 1/1's from the same fantastic finishers set. I contacted UD about it and made an exchange with them years ago. From what I understand - an entire second set was removed from Upper Deck and was sold off - that's the reason you are now seeing double!

Did you ever come across the base card 1/1 of Johnson from that year?? I owned it for about 2 days at one of the Expos, bought it there, sold it there. I hope it ended up in a good collection.

Actually - I do have that one - and the frozen in time 1/1 as well. Can't believe I was able to track down all 3 of them (and truthfully 4 with that other double I had, haha). All are below:

That's an awesome rainbow...I'm lucky enough to have both the Morozov's as well. Those are still my favorite 1/1's since they were the first anyone made for hockey.

that's not quite true.. Pinnacle did printing plates in 97-98
