Just saw this. Very sad. A Yahoo news feed is saying they found a third device and police just detonated it, so it could have been worse, scary enough as it is to say.

Don't think 3 dead are confirmed yet, but holy sh*t. I live in Watertown, bunch of my friends went in town cuz they didn't have work, thank god there all at Fenway. Crazy its so close to home. Hope the 3 dead is not the case.

Sucks. My Wife works in that area but had today off. Her best friends husband was running in the Marathon but both are ok. Just an aweful thing to happen.

geddon81, thankfully not planned well enough. Definitely could have been much worse, and as bad as it was, I'm glad that those other ones didn't have a chance to go off.

Yeah true, im glad they didnt go off either. BTW a suspect is being held in a hospital, no news on who he or she may be or if they worked alone.

As a Boston ex-pat.first and foremost my heart goes out to ALL the victims! It is too bad the hoodlums\terrorist use something like a sporting event to make a statement. BTW I used to be at the Marathon when I was younger and hand out water to the runners sometimes.

My wife volunteers every year at the finish line. she's fine and on the way home. the bomb radius was a small one. i can tell you that the bombs were claymore mines, placed in backpacks inside trash cans (you wont get the claymore part on the news, but ball bearings were found on the scene, and given the nature of the explosion, makes sense

I spent 4 years in germany during the height of terrorism over there (the baader meinhoff gang), and on 9/11, my wife was working across the street from the pentagon, i worked a block and a half from the pentagon. we were also in DC during the sniper attacks

honestly, this is getting old
