A lot of good information. Well like anything I like to do some leg work but like they always say you are not gonna find the perfect place.. but look for the one that provides the most. As I can tell Beckett is doing that. Only negative thing I heard is website issues but thats it

Based on my past experiences with PSA I will never send a post 1980 card to them for grading, ever! That said, PSA 10s consistently bring in more money than BGS 9.5s on eBay. I think there are actually 1 or 2 people on these boards that buy BGS 9.5s, regrade them with PSA, and sell them for a profit.

my exception for post '80s stuff and PSA would be for high end low numbered 90s parallels that I know would get a PSA 10

anything less than a PSA 10 for 90s and up stuff--i could care less about. but there are a lot of people putting together sets of lower numbered/harder to find inserts from the 90s and a PSA 10 > anything else in my mind for those.

I'd like to add something to this. I've crossed some PSA 10's and got BGS 9's. And I've seen PSA 9's get BGS 8.5's & BGS 8's.

I've also seen BGS cards that crossed over to lower PSA grades.

The bottom line is that it is all personal preference between these 2. I personally prefer BGS for modern cards (I like their slabs better), but I prefer PSA and SGC for vintage.

As long as you stick to PSA or BGS- it's 6 of one, half dozen of the other.

I just happened to be looking for Strasburg autos on Ebay right now. I found a BGS 9.5 and a PSA 10 that ended exactly one minute later from the same seller. Exact same card.

When I was still actively collecting I graded the modern I wanted in BGS slabs and my vintage through SGC as I much prefer the look and knowledge on the vintage stuff through them

SGC slabs also look gorgeous with vintage cards IMHO
