OT: Comcast going Retro by reintroducing dialup?

OT: Comcast going Retro by reintroducing dialup?
Last few days my service has been slower than normal. Ive tolerated it until now when I had 12 cards on my watchlist all ending at the same time.

I starting bidding on them with 2 minutes left (PLENTY OF TIME).
I could only get 5 of them to load in time for me to bid before that time and won only 4. Sad

Anyone else having issues?

I hate Comcast but, they are the best service in my area right now. My Internet connection goes in an out on occasion but has been decent lately.

When I used to play poker online for cash(before it was banned) I lost connection in the middle of a huge hand and my hand was auto folded before I was able to get it working again. It cost me almost 600 bucks. I called Comcast right away screaming and they told me there was nothing wrong with the service in my area. After about 5 visits from a tech they got it smoothed out but it was still spotty so I cancelled them. When I moved I picked them back up and it's been better. I stopped playing the higher limit poker online just because I was worried about being timed out of a big pot like that again.

LOL, I made some real good money back when the online poker boom was happening. I started out playing 10 cent 25 cent no limit tables and turned 50 bucks into thousands in a matter of a couple months. After I got a nice bank roll I started playing higher limits, probably higher than I should have but it worked out well until the government stepped in and put a stop to it here in the states. Funny thing is I had no problem playing high limit online but I can't do it at the casino with "real money" lol. But monthly trips to the casino lets me have money to blow on this hobby.

Sorry for the derail! Comcast sucks!!!!

Yeah, I've always had pretty reliable service with Comcast. We have ATT uverse now, I think 12MB and its completely stable for over a year as far as I know, never had a dropped connection or even slow downs unless Im running downloads.

On the casino note, I won some very good money back in 2006-2007 or so playing online casinos (mostly Craps and slot machines). I always got paid to when I cashed out and it was an awesome experience. Within 2 hours of me there are atleast 10 indian casinos and South Lake Tahoe so now we just drive up to Tahoe and hit up Harvey's which have been great to me. Good winning nights, comped rooms almost anytime I want. lol Ive done strike missions where I'd be in the casino for 10 minutes and walk out with $300 in winnings. Gotta love that!

I just recently ditched Comcast in favor of Century Link. I initially made the decision strictly based on money ... similar service from CL is $35 for six months vs. $70/month for Comcast, who wouldn't cut me a deal to keep my business.

The speed I'm getting now in comparison to a month ago is amazing - no lag time, pages all load correctly on the first try, streaming video doesn't buffer every 5 minutes.

I'm sure it has more to do with the cable lines vs. the phone lines in my apartment building more than anything, but I'm getting a much faster internet now that I switched.
