Preliminary thoughts on Set Registry so far?
Hi All,

Was just wondering what your thoughts were on the Set Registry so far?

I think my only real "gripe" so far is that cards seem to be weighted equally. Example: In my Mickey Mantle registry, my 1956 topps card will be worth the same number of points as a 1996 topps commemorative of the same grade. I don't think that should be the case.

What do you think?

So far I like it. Dont like that my rank hasnt changed since I added my 1st card but hopefully thats just a delay. As for the points - Arent they all like that? Thats what makes vintage cards with higher grades worth a ton more. The point is to get the highest grades possible overall. If they went by rarity or how hard it is to get the higher grade then people would have higher scores with 1 or 2 cards instead of needing to match others collections. Thats how they get ppl to pay $5 a card to grade a ton of common issue cards lol I'm just running off at the fingers I really havent delved into the point system too much lol

I really like the registry but I see what your saying on the point system. The cards I have entered are very rare cards that are hard to get good grades on. Yet somebody with some common cards graded the same are going to have the same points as me. All it is basically is who has the most graded cards of a player. Like if ^ branesergen had 100 autographed peyton manning /10 cards all graded 9.5, all it takes is 100 common mannings graded 9.5 to equal it it seems. Just doesnt seem right.

Someone said (I don't remember if it was Mark Anderson or Jeff the MOD), that if you want to have all the rare cards, then create a Custom Registry for it. I think the rare Jordan cards was an example.
