If you like to see the big picture you may be interested in this
So I want to hear the communities opinions on the following. throughout your experience as a collector: 1. Do you prefer overall upper deck or panini products 2. Your most prized pull was from upper deck or panini 3. Your largest redemption disappointment was from upper deck or panini 4. Did a company or manufacturer ever turn you off the hobby for a period of more than 3 months consecutive. Yes / no 5. Who do you think grasps the needs of the collectors more UD or Panini. 6. Best overall eye appeal/ design concept and delivery for 11/12 yr UD or Panini 7. Best high end product design panini dominion or UD the cup. 8. Who's more innovative with new products UD or panini. 9. Who has the majority of your confidence that your getting your money's worth When buying wax, UD or panini? 10. How many years have you collected hockey cards. I am in no way affiliated with upper deck or panini. These questions I constructed With enough feedback could give us a real time idea of where the communities confidence and overall opinions lay. 1952-53 parkhurst 40/105 http://www.beckett.com/forums/thread-1523328.html 1962-63 parkhurst 54/54 http://www.beckett.com/forums/thread-1508326.html |

RE: Opinions on the secondary market / interpret the numbers
1) ITG, UD and Panini does not hold a candle to them, however, Panini has been getting better than UD recently.
2) ITG. Though my most $$$ pull was from Upper Deck. 3) No disappointments yet with redemptions from anyone. 4) No 5) Both. They don't listen to collectors the way ITG does. They pick whoever they think will sell the most products instead of accomodating a few oddballs into the mix...*cough* Irbe. How much more Richard Brodeur can UD add in to their products? 6) Upper Deck. Thier designs are sharp as can be, even if the spirit of their products has never been the same since the 2004-05 lockout. 7) ITG Ultimate. If the choice is between the big two, however, The Cup kicks Dominion in design, resale, and demand any day of the year. 8) ITG. They try new stuff, then everyone copies them. Having said that, Panini does try to mix up the fare. The Prime Ties was a good example of something unique they thought of. Upper Deck just seems to roll through the motions doing what they always do. 9) ITG. Not even a close contest there. 10) 21-22 years of collecting cards. ![]() SUPER-BANNER BY THA PENGUIN Collecting Irbe Items from 1980s to 2009 My Goaltending Museum: http://bcgoaltendingmuseum.weebly.com/ |

FUN!
Quote:1. Do you prefer overall upper deck or panini productsPanini. Hands down. Quote:2. Your most prized pull was from upper deck or paniniProSet (seriously) But for these purposes, UD Quote:3. Your largest redemption disappointment was from upper deck or paniniUD Quote:4. Did a company or manufacturer ever turn you off the hobby for a period of more than 3 months consecutive. Yes / noClose, but no. Quote:5. Who do you think grasps the needs of the collectors more UD or Panini.Panini puts out nicer looking products. The job they did on Score puched Victory right out of the market. The only thing wrong with Panini is the general attitude of collectors that UD is the be all to end all. Quote:6. Best overall eye appeal/ design concept and delivery for 11/12 yr UD or PaniniAgain, Panini. Hands down. Quote:7. Best high end product design panini dominion or UD the cup. Can't really comment, as I can't justify $500 for a couple of cards, but the Cup is still the gold standard. Quote:8. Who's more innovative with new products UD or panini.Panini Quote:9. Who has the majority of your confidence that your getting your money's worthUD, but only because people seem to hate Panini or think they won't be around long or whatever. UD still holds the resale premium. Quote:10. How many years have you collected hockey cards. In this incarnation, since about December '09 -Collecting: Steve Kelly, Barry Brust, Danny Watkins, Justin Schultz Smyl, Linden, Naslund, McLean, Lidstrom RCs Canucks O-Pee-Chee & OPC Premier cards -If it's in my bucket and not my org, let me know! http://s942.photobucket.com/albums/ad262/wickabee/ |

1. Do you prefer overall upper deck or panini products
I prefer Panini 2. Your most prized pull was from upper deck or panini Upper Deck, but it's with an asterisk since it came during their exclusive contract period. 3. Your largest redemption disappointment was from upper deck or panini neither 4. Did a company or manufacturer ever turn you off the hobby for a period of more than 3 months consecutive. Yes / no no 5. Who do you think grasps the needs of the collectors more UD or Panini. Panini 6. Best overall eye appeal/ design concept and delivery for 11/12 yr UD or Panini Upper Deck 7. Best high end product design panini dominion or UD the cup. Upper Deck 8. Who's more innovative with new products UD or panini. Panini 9. Who has the majority of your confidence that your getting your money's worth when buying wax, UD or panini? Panini 10. How many years have you collected hockey cards. I've collected since 1990, but got a away from it in the late 90s during high school. I think that Upper Deck makes nicer looking individual cards but I consistently enjoy breaking Panini products more than UD. ![]() Blues PC: 4400+ cards - Blues RCs: 759/815 - 93% |

RE: Opinions on the secondary market / interpret the numbers
Great to see feedback and opinions however if questions are skipped or your answer is
Outside the parameter of the question I will not be able to use your data to contribute To the final equation. Also I believe the dominion vs cup question is being misread, It's merely your opinion which do you think is better overall.
