It's been a push back towards hobby for a couple years now. The retail odds are getting higher and higher and the hits you do get are low to mid level (Ex. retail auto that might bring $5 if you're lucky).
The hobby side was hurting badly so it really had to be done to keep the balance. People were bypassing hobby stores for the cheaper retail product and pulling massive hits. /1, /5 etc...
Retail should be for kids and your casual collector and the big boys should have hobby where you pay a little more but your chances are a lot better.
