Cards:
Disappointment: Absolutely nothing done during the lockout to make the cards more interesting, like the 04-05YGs.
Surprise: Panini still gets no love despite having WAY nicer products than UD
Hockey:
Disappointment: Schultz going to Edmonton instead of Vancouver.
Surprise: Kassian. I didn't expect this level of play until next season.

Cards
Disappointment: No new NHL Rookies this year in products, (Yakupov, Tarasenko, etc.)
Surprise: The addition of canceled products in upcoming products, (ex. SPX autos & jerseys in SP Authentic)

Disappointment with the Oilers, who still can't play any defense.

They're young. They've got a new coach. Relax. Another year or two and the next decade or so is yours.

No real surprises. I did expect the guys who were already playing to have an advantage...Ovechkin lol.
IMO the lockout real hurt the card market on sites like ebay. Not sure how the real highend stuff is doing but there is little activity in the mid to lower price stuff.
Collecting Vintage OPC and older oddball and food issues as well as Maple Leafs.
