Cal Ripken, Jr Auto "#1 of 2,131"
I am going to trade/sell one of the finest Cal Ripken, Jr Auto cards that exists.

This is the first autographed card in the series "The Only Way I Know", #1 of 2,131.

It is listed in my Org and you can search for it here, listed as:
"1997 Donruss Ripken The Only Way I Know #10A Cal Ripken BOOK AU/2131"

You can see the card on my PhotoBucket

This card is up for trade/sale. It is the first in the run... yep, card #1 of 2,131. It is card 10/10 in this special set and is in NM-MT+ condition.

Card number 10 was available exclusively in his book, "The Only Way I Know." Ripken autographed 2,131 of these number 10 cards and they were randomly inserted into the books. Because of it's separate distribution, card number 10 is not commonly included in complete sets, thus the mainstream set is considered complete with cards 1-9.

This is the only one of this card listed on Beckett in the C2C and is listed as:

So there was random inserts of these? I used to have the book and the card but it seems like mine had a facsimile auto. Is that accurate?
Also so you know you can't show the pricing here or the mods will delete you. It's a pricing site, they expect us today to see that.

This is no Facsimille Autograph. The books came with the certificate to redeem for the Auto card. You just sent it back to Penguin Publishing and they sent you the card.

There were basic "cards" that came with the books, such as what you received, but these were the limited edition. Because not everyone redeemed their certificate for the cards, the actual number of these that are in ciruclation are even further limited.

Here's the original letter, envelope, and image of the card...

RE: Cal Ripken, Jr Auto "#1 of 2,131"
that is awesome, and for reference that is not serial number #1 it is just simply stating it is 1 of 2131 autographed cards.

they wouldn't make 2131 black plates to number each of those printed on the card like that, and there wouldn't be proper spacing to even number them #1-#2131 on the face of the card there.

very cool though! real nice looking signature too

edit: found one completed on ebay that sold, and can confirm it is stating it is 1 of 2131 not card #1/2031

Your wrong for sure. I know there is a facsimile version. I had it and actually with some digging may still have it.
This may also help on determining a fair value. It sold for $66.

and here is the facsimile that doesn't exist too

I think you misread bud Wink. He said "this" is no facsimile auto not "there". I think he even agreed here are basic facsimile ones like te one you had.

Take a breath big guy, just baseball cards.

Dude, don't start anything. I did misread. He must have too though cause I never said it was a facsimile.

To the OP, sorry for misunderstanding. It doesn't change the cards I posted examples of though. Also the facsimile is also card #10. You may already know that though. My intent was simply to inform you of more information not meant to come across as an argument. Again, sorry!
