Hey what's up fellow Beckett.com'ers? Can anyone give me any information on the Phillip Merling 2008 Playoff Contenders short print autograph rookie card #185? I bought a boxed lot of cards at a show and came across one of these that has the sticker but no autograph or even any sign that there was ever an autograph there. It's already a short print to 100, but does anyone have any further information on this particular card? Thanks in advance.

Not sure if I am correct on this or not, but I believe he signed a lot of his rookie autographs in blue pen as opposed to a sharpie, making them really tough to see. If you google "Phillip Merling Contenders" and look at the images you will see a few examples of his contenders card where you can barely make out the autograph. Hope this helps.

I think the only products you can find his sharpie autos in are Upper Deck products and Playoff National Treasures from 2008. I believe everything else is the blue pen autograph.

For some reason he signed almost everything for all sets in Pen only ones not signed in pen were NT and SP authentic.
Almost all his better rc's are signed and rare. I finally got one of these for my Dolphins PC in a 2 junk box.
I'm sure the auto is there but very hard to see.
