RE: 2012 Bowman Draft 10 case break and contest thread [CONTESTS CLOSED]
Case #10, Box #7
Parker Morin Blue /500 Paul Sewald Orange /250 Patrick Claussen Blue Refractor /250 Richie Shaffer Auto Redemption Grade: C Comments: Plenty of Shaffers now. Case #10, Box #8 Justin Black Blue /500 Joe Bircher Blue /500 Brian Dozier Orange /250 Sean McAdams Blue Refractor /250 Kyle Zimmer Refractor Auto Grade: C Comments: Four more boxes to pull a colored auto. Case #10, Box #9 Jesmuel Valentin Blue /500 Drew Pomeranz Blue /500 Rowan Wick Orange /250 Addison Reed Rookie Refractor Jamie Jarmon Blue Refractor /250 Oscar Taveras Futures Game Jersey /199 Kevin Plawecki Auto Grade: B Comments: Nice Taveras. Case #10, Box #10 Chris Archer Blue /500 Johendi Jiminian Blue /500 Trevor Bauer Blue Refractor /250 Christopher Beck Gold Refractor /50 Rhymer Liriano Futures Game Jersey /199 Kevin Gausman AFLAC Auto 127/225 Bruce Maxwell Auto Grade: A Comments: This may have been the last paper auto. No change in the contest lead! Case #10, Box #11 Jason Stolz Blue /500 Paul Sewald Orange /250 Connor Lien Blue Refractor /250 Jacob Wilson Blue Refractor /250 Michael Wacha Black Auto /25 Grade: A+ Comments: Love these black autos! Case #10, Box #12 Joshua Turley Blue /500 Jonathan Sandfort Blue /500 Austin Chubb Orange /250 Tommy Richards Gold Refractor /50 Brian Johnson Refractor Auto Grade: D+ Comments: Weak end to a fun case. Case #10 Summary Grade: B Comments: Last four cases were all about the same quality, and I was happy with them all. This one was characterized by a black auto, a Gausman AFLAC auto, a Taveras Jersey, a Liriano Jumbo Patch, a Harper base refractor, and of course the purple Plawecki auto. Solid value. And we have a contest winner: congratulations, esa0315!! Details on your $50 shopping spree will be sent via PM. This Message Board has been crawling lately, so I doubt anyone is around at the moment. Still, I appreciate the good wishes, and I’ll be back to wrap up the break tomorrow. 10 Case Break Summary Grade: B Comments: Probably not a big surprise that I give this break a solid B, as it was my modal case grade. I assigned one C+ grade, 2 B- grades, 5 B grades, 1 B+ grade, and 1 A. It’s my highest grade for a break of Draft since 2009. I think it’s an excellent product, and though prices have not risen, they haven’t fallen much either. You can get cases for $700 delivered at a popular retail website, and boxes for $60. I personally think it’s a solid value at $71/box or less, and if I hadn’t purchased 10 cases I’d purchase some more. The auto checklist is deep, there’s plenty of color, and there are lots of cool inserts. I have some serious sorting to do now, but I’m going to enjoy this set for decades. Cheers, --Nathan |
