RE: 2012 Bowman Draft 10 case break and contest thread [CONTESTS CLOSED]
Case #7, Box #10

Jake Pintar Blue /500
Anthony Gose Orange /250
Austin Maddox Orange /250
Robert Ravago Blue Refractor /250
Michael Zunino AFLAC Auto 180/225

Grade: A+
Comments: Seven brutal boxes in a row, followed by three terrific ones. Making things more interesting is that the Zunino serial number gives us yet another contest leader. Esa0315 predicted a serial number of 175, and is now in pretty good shape. There may well be a few more paper autos with high enough serial numbers to make a difference, but one would have to fall in a pretty tight range to make a difference.

Case #7, Box #11

A. J. Pollock Blue /500
Correlle Prime Blue /500
Branden Kline Orange /250
Jordany Valdespin Blue Refractor /250
Wyatt Mathisen Blue Refractor /250
Kevin Gausman AFLAC Auto 126/225

Grade: A
Comments: Keep ‘em coming. Another AFLAC auto, but a lower serial number.

Case #7, Box #12

Jordany Valdespin Blue /500
Luke Bard Blue /500
James Ramsey Blue Refractor /250
David Dahl Perfect Game Auto 065/235
Tyrone Taylor Auto

Grade: A
Comments: What a finish. Again, another paper auto.

Case #7, Box #12

Jordany Valdespin Blue /500
Luke Bard Blue /500
James Ramsey Blue Refractor /250
David Dahl Perfect Game Auto 065/235
Tyrone Taylor Auto

Grade: A
Comments: What a finish. Again, another paper auto.

Case #7 Summary

Grade: B
Comments: The first 7 boxes were giving me average value – and headed for a squarely C grade, my weakest case of the break, with only an Addison Russell base auto by which to be impressed. But the final five boxes were worth double the 7 preceding boxes, and boosted the overall grade, thanks to two AFLAC autos, a Perfect Game auto, a Black auto, and a Joey Gallo blue refractor auto. My computer has been crashing, so the last several boxes have been posted in Safe Mode. Argh. Thought it was an update to Firefox causing the problems, but now it’s crashing on Google Chrome too. I’m sure I caused the problem somehow trying to stream out of network football.

Yoenny Gonzalez Orange /250

I know, right? I'm extra glad they happened at the end of a case, or it would have been hard to bust the remaining boxes, knowing they were probably not as nice.
Case #8, Box #3

Tyler Gonzalez Blue /500
Yoenis Cespedes Blue /500
Jacob Wilson Orange /250
Anthony Gose Rookie Refractor /300
Jeremy Lucas Blue Refractor /250

Kyle Zimmer Blue Refractor /250
James Ramsey Refractor Auto

Brett Wiley Blue /500
Alex Yarbrough Orange /250
Austin Aune Gold Refractor /50
Max Fried Perfect Game 109/235
Gavin Cecchini Gold Refractor Auto /50

Grade: A+
Comments: Wow – I was right about the colored auto coming, but I wasn’t expecting a gold. Especially not with a Perfect Game auto included. And another gold prospect. Great box.

Case #8, Box #8

Bruce Maxwell Blue /500
Mike Mudron Blue /500
Bryan Haar Orange /250
Mike Zunino Blue Refractor /250
Stephen Pryor Orange Refractor /25
Anthony Rendon Best Die Cut Refractor /99
Mitch Nay Refractor Auto

Derek Norris Blue /500
Jesmuel Valentin Orange /250
Joseph Almaraz Blue Refractor /250
Jake Odorizzi Futures Game Jersey /199
Richie Shaffer Auto Redemption

Grade: C+
Comments: I may get a chance to break into case #9 tonight. Looking for a blue auto before I get there, though.

Case #8, Box #10

Derrick Bleeker Blue /500
Caleb Frare Blue /500
Will Middlebrooks Orange /250
Devin Mesoraco Rookie Refractor /300
Jesmuel Valentin Blue Refractor /250
Richie Shaffer Refractor Auto Redemption

Comments: Shaffer is selling quite well.

Case #8, Box #11

William Carmona Orange /250
Brett Wiley Blue Refractor /250
Jose Quintana Blue Refractor /250
Billy Hamilton Futures Game Jumbo Patch /25

Comments: One sweet looking gigantic patch. It’s not three color, like the other one sold online, but still a great pull, probably the case hit. I still think I have a shot at a numbered auto in the final box.

Case #8, Box #12

Wily Peralta Blue /500
Michael Vaughn Blue /500
Joel Licon Blue Refractor /250
Austin Maddox Red Refractor /5
Spencer Edwards Cyan Plate /1
Miles Head Best Atomic Die Cut /25
Bruce Maxwell Blue Refractor Auto /150

Grade: A
Comments: Holy balls, I really underestimated all the stuff still hanging around in this case. I was right about the blue auto, but a red refractor, a plate, and a low numbered Best insert? None are huge pulls individually, but it was sure surprising to see it all come out of the same box. Another great ending to a case; I’d better not change my clothes while I’m this lucky.

Case #8 Summary

Grade: B
Comments: Case #1 is still my best overall, but I feel like I’m hitting solid singles with almost every case. This one featured a gold auto, a blue auto, a Shaffer refractor auto redemption, a Perfect Game auto, a jumbo patch of Billy Hamilton, and a prospect red refractor. I think I’ll go watch the end of the Illinois-Gonzaga game, but I’ll probably crack that 9th case tonight.

Case #9, Box #1

Jordany Valdespin Blue /500
Matthew Price Blue /500
Taylor Ard Orange /250
Christopher Beck Orange /250
Steve Clevenger Blue Refractor /250
Jake Proctor Blue Refractor /250
Matt Barnes Futures Game Jersey /199
Shane Watson Auto

Grade: C
Comments: Maybe one or two more boxes tonight.

Case #9, Box #2

Derek Self Blue /500
Hudson Randall Blue /500
Hatt Hague Orange /250
Eric Wood Gold Refractor /50
Tyler Naquin Orange Refractor Auto /25

Grade: A+
Comments: I think this is probably my 5th best pull of the break, and it’s quite possible I won’t see anything this nice in my remaining 22 boxes. This is a good place to stop for the night. I should be able to finish up the break Sunday.
