Questions, Comments, Concerns...
To those of you taking the time to read this:
First off, let me just start by saying thank-you, and second, let me get straight to the point. I have a brand new, never before opened, still in wrapper card. I was going to have it graded as a novelty, because it is literally in factory condition, and I just want the added prestige of a perfect rating. I decided to first check out PSA, but then, horror of horrors--It came to my attention that their graders do not use gloves while grading items. How in the hell can a grading company assign anything any grade, (and) much less (as) any sort of mint when it has their grubby little fingerprints all over it?! I am hoping that one of you can either confirm or deny the existence of this abhorrent practice at the highly reputable and well respected Beckett. (I really, really hope they wear frieking gloves.) Thank you for your time and considerations, and have a wonderful day, Sincerely, Chandler S. P.S. For those of you who have used other grading services in the past; how do they match up when compared with Beckett? |

RE: Questions, Comments, Concerns...
I heard that PSA does not use gloves so that they can feel the surface and make sure there is no surface damage. I wouldn't be suprised if BGS did the same.

RE: Questions, Comments, Concerns...
No third party grading service I am aware of uses gloves,,, just so your aware,,,,, I do believe when BGS handles cards one of the reasons they ask people to use penny holders is so they can remove the cards from the Card Savers they are in without transferring whatever oils are on their hands,,,, preserving surface condition and allowing them to handle the item,,,, With quite a few pristine cards on a personal level I can vouch for the ability to handle cards without getting my own grubby fingerprints on them merely by holding the edges instead of the card surface,,,, even if I were to touch them an eyeglass wipe clears off any oils my touch may leave,,,, The anal retentive amongst the collecting world may use acid free gloves similar to museums use,,,,,,but then again many of those people do not grade due to an inability to reconcile someone else's germs on their cards ![]() My own opinion as always,,, Jeff SUGGESTIONS SUBMIT IT HERE !!
