This may sound like a stupid question, but these are actually printed on leather?
Or is there some other reason for them to be called that?
I've seen the wood set and you can see the wood grain, on these I don't see any leather grain beneath the picture.

Faux leather. They have the texture similar to baseball-type leather. Since my minis are double-sleeved, the texture is hard to see but it covers the whole area. Cheap scanners don't help either.

I don't think it's possible to print on real leather since it would fade out over time.
