I would like to collect mantle but his cards are selling near book or more. I was thinking I could do the mays or Aaron without killing the wallet

If I HAD to choose, I'd probably go with Mays but it's definitely a tough call.

I have tried to get just 1 of each HOF player. For example, I got a 1960 Topps Mays, a 1962 Topps Koufax, a 1952 Bowman Monte Irvin, etc. In addition to my 1958 set I am working, I am just getting 1 card of each HOFer.

I started off with the BABE 33 Goudey, then i went for the Mantles and along my way i got Hank Aaron RC. then scampered towards Maris and Clemente. but got a great pickup of a t206 J.Evers.
But also found some football HoFers too...like Unitas RC and Namath RC, Montana RC, J.Rice RCs. W.Payton RC.

Heck im all over the place on VINTAGE!!!!
Been looking at a Ty Cobb, or any other HoFer RC to add.

HANK, since im from UGA land and home of the Braves.

Collecting MICKEY MANTLES
also collect: Vintage Baseball/Football and some UGA (Georgia Bulldogs)

That is such a tough decision. I will go with Aaron for being the home run king. Still, I will have to add some Mays cards too.

I have a nearly equal amount of cards of both, but I've been giving Aaron priority over Mays recently. I was more of an Aaron fan growing up and his cards are slightly more affordable. It all boils down to personal preference though, Yaz is who I collect the most.

Either way, you can't go wrong and I'm certainly not stopping with Mays . . . . still need a '55 Topps, '66 Topps Venezuelan Batting Leaders, '67 Topps, and '72 O Pee Chee to round out a few of my sets. Happy hunting.
