If your planning on having them graded, don't use anything, especially if it has fingerprints on the surface.

Finger prints have a lot of oil in them, the more you wipe, the more you smear, it then hurts the grades on "surface", front, back, etc....

If you try to use something to clean the card, you then run the risk of having it come back as "altered"

try a little squirt of endust on a "wife Beater" t-shirt .... that material leaves no dust lint and won't scratch.... the endust removes the oils from fingerprints instead of just smearing them around.... try it on a few commons or damaged cards.... I use it to change screen protectors on iPhones.... this works well on finest and chrome type cards.

I actually used a piece of fleece that was left over from my wifes crafts to remove some sticky stuff that was on the surface of a card. i needed to apply some pressure on it to scrape it off but didnt want to scratch or indent the card. i thought it worked great! card surface was had a shiny foil to it and it didnt leave a mark. the card surface also graded a 9.5 so id say it was a success.

When I started collecting in 1989, when they still had Bubble Gum, I used to use Panty hose to clean off the gum residue
