RE: OT: Calling ALL veteran collectors!! ... Please help me learn about vintage!
Thanks for the great responses everyone!! It is all very very helpful advice, most of which I havent even considered. I definetly plan on starting small. I didnt even realize that vintage was considered as two different ers's. My main focus/interest right now is post-war vintage. Mainly 50's & 60's (& maybe even some 70's). My grandfather had some really nice cards from this era, and even though he's been gone for many years, his birthday was a few weeks ago, and every year on his birthday, I travel to Fort Indiantown Gap where here is buried, and just spend the day out there with him. I got to thinking about some of the cool vintage sports stuff he had and the idea jus clicked.... I like cards. Vintage cards bring back fond memories of my grandfather, so why not go at it. Smile

I wanna thank everyone who has voiced their comments & opinions to me on this subject. I know I have A LOT to learn, but with my passion for sports & cards and the memory of my grandpa leading the way, I know it'll be fun!

Also, I have recently made my first vintage purchase! It should be arriving at my house hopefully tomorrow or monday. But unfortunately, I am in the hospital right now dealing with some heart issues, but as soon as I get home, I will post an update for all of you to see. Smile

Thanks again for the replies & if anyone else has anything to add, by all means, please feel free to share!! Smile

Thanks! Me too! I like how they burst out of the newspaper like that. I may try to go after a few more like that from that set as all as some of the mvp cards. I like the look of those too!
