That's a funny assessment there. How come Ovechkin outsells Phanuef, Perry, Getzlaf, and Richards when they are all Canadian?

Ovechkin is just as good or better than Crosby yet his cards sell for half the value

Pavel Datsyuk, Ilya Kovalchuk, Evegeni Nabakov, Andrei Markov are Elite Players in the NHL and they dont get close to Elite Canadians.

And The Reason Why Ovechkin is worth more then the players you listed is because he is the best player in the league.

1. Sidney Crosby is a different beast altogether. He is the top selling hobby player for various reasons that don't involve talent (although his talent helps).

2. If Russians don't get hobby love, then why are the only real rookies to own from 01-02 are Kovalchuk and Datsyuk. Why is Malkin THE rookie to own from 06-07 ahead of Staal, Stastny, and Kessel.

3. I get it. Two players that are identical in stats and game play - the Canadian will be worth more. How can one even begin to compare Malkin and Price on that basis?

4. I think the point was more that Malkin was the top rookie of 06-07 and Price is the top rookie from 07-08.

5. Saying Price will be way more valuable than Malkin because of nationality is ridiculous. One is a forward playing for the Penguins with rookie cards in 06-07 and one is a goaltender for the Canadiens with rookie in 07-08.

6. Again, if Russians don't get hobby love by everybody's logic, then the difference in talent between Ovechkin and the likes of Phaneuf, Richards, etc.. should equate to at least even prices.

7. It is just an old argument that people like to type to make themselves sound smart.
