Favre a football coach?? ....... Your thoughts...
I think it would be good for him, his image and the kids to learn from a legend. All I know is, that if I was still in Highschool, I'd be tranfering! Big Grin

really slotman?? :/

Anyways, yes, if I was a QB I would love to have him as my high school coach - his knowledge of the game is unparallel, and as a high schooler, having someone like him around pushes you to want to be better. As a high school baseball coach, I remember the demeanor of the kids striving for success once Chuck Finley was signed on as the pitching coach.

Sorry, just kidding around... He would be a pretty good coach, especially offensive or QB coach... His passion for the game is undeniable...

Honestly, I don't think this is gonna work at all. I mean... at least in his professional career, Favre has absolutely no interest in mentoring anyone. Maybe as a high school coach, he MIGHT decide to help others, but as they say... a leopard can't change its spots.

Is this an "unbiased" opinion, ADB? Cuz we all know your disdain for Favre, lol Big Grin

I think he felt kinda threatened by Rodgers in Green Bay. I think he felt like the organization was "giving up" on him or trying to push him out for the new guy. Yeah, Favre started all of it with his on-again off-again retirement talk, but I think the Packers drafted Rodgers as insurance incase Favre ACTUALLY retired. The whole situation was messy, and IMHO, handled wrong by BOTH sides.

As for coaching, I think its a different situation. Who knows Favre's REAL reasons or intentions for doing this, but I think it will be good for both sides. I know Favre still misses the game and this is an opportunity for him to participate again. As for the kids, this is like a gift from the Heavens! Having an NFL legend & Future HOFer as a coach, is priceless!

I hope he does right by them, or it could be catastrophic... ok, maybe that was a little overstated. It could be bad though.
